TERMS OF PAYMENT
Full payment for total hire period is to be paid two weeks prior to departure. All rates are inclusive of GST. A deposit of $200.00 is payable as a holding deposit/booking fee, this is non-refundable and upon full payment of BOND will be deducted from balance.
A security BOND of $600.00 is payable prior to departure. This covers insurance costs and excess. Long term hire will attract a bond of $500 per month refundable in part or whole depending of condition of the camper trailer approx 7 working days following return. Bond will be refunded 7 working days upon completion of hire, this allows time for OZ Escapes Camper Trailer Hire to conduct full maintenance check prior to release of funds and deduct any necessary amounts as outlined in Terms and Condition clauses.
Should any payment terms be contravened, OZ Escapes Camper Trailer Hire reserves the right to cancel hire agreement at any given time. In this event the holding deposit/booking fee of $200.00 will not be reimbursed. OZ Escapes Camper Trailer Hire reserves the right to refuse hire to any persons deemed unsuitable.
HIRE RESTRICTIONS
The hirer/driver must be at least 25 years of age at time
of commencement of hire period.
The hirer/driver must possess a full/unrestricted driver’s licence
issued in Australia - not a learners or provisional licence.
A copy of the hirer/drivers licence will be taken
by OZ Escapes Camper Trailer Hire prior to departure.
The hirer/driver must have a current FULL Australian drivers licence, not a provisional or learners licence.
COMPREHESIVE INSURANCE POLICY
The hirer/driver must provide OZ Escapes Camper Trailer Hire with a copy of their Certificate of Currency from their insurance company. The hirer/driver must not have not have at any time been refused Motor Vehicle Insurance. The hirer/hirers must not have been convicted of any driving offence that involved being under the influence of alcohol and/ or drugs.
The hirer/driver must not tow the camper trailer whilst under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. If camper trailer is returned earlier then expected to OZ Escapes Camper Trailer Hire will NOT refund any amounts of one week or more unless due to extenuating circumstances. (Proof of circumstances deemed extenuating will be required).
CLEANING
The Camper Trailer is expected to be returned to OZ Escapes Camper Trailer Hire in the same condition upon which it was released. The hirer is expected to return the camper trailer clean and tidy. Should the camper trailer require what is deemed upon return to be cleaned excessively a charge against the bond will incur. Excessive cleaning fee rates start at a cost of $30.00 and are charged on a 1⁄2 hourly basis plus cost of cleaning products.
If the camper trailer upon return is found to have gone off-road and is therefore excessively dirty, the camper trailer will require a professional detail and therefore incur and extra charge at the owner’s discretion which shall be deducted from the bond. The use of aerosol cans (e.g.- deodorant, insect repellent), is not permitted inside an OZ Escapes Camper Trailer, has been shown to affect the integrity of the canvas.
SMOKING
Smoking is NOT permitted inside any of the vehicles owned by OZ Escapes Camper Trailer Hire. Smoking is not permitted in/or near awnings or annexes owned by OZ Escapes Camper Trailer Hire.
PETS
No pets are permitted inside the Camper Trailers and/ or annexes. Should it be found that a pet has in fact been permitted inside the Camper Trailer an extra cleaning fee will be deducted from the bond.
RESTRICTED AREAS
The camper trailer is to be driven at all times on sealed/ bitumen roads. The ONLY exception allowed being when the camper trailer exits a sealed road and enters onto a National Park track or camping area. OZ Escapes Camper Trailers are not permitted to travel on any road marked as “4WD Only”, only National Parks roads deemed suitable for two wheel drive vehicles must be driven on - NO Exceptions.
Restricted areas include:
- Gibb River Road
- Simpson Desert
- Birdsville Track
- Oonadatta Track
- Tanami Track
- Canning Stock Route
- Sturt Stoney Desert
- Gun Barrel Highway
- Cape York Peninsula
- All areas north of Cairns.
Camper trailers are not permitted to enter any region that is being or expected to be affected by a cyclone. Camper trailers are not to be taken across river crossings or swollen creeks. When driving towing a camper trailer weather conditions MUST be taken into consideration prior to embarking - wet roads, high winds will all effect towing ability. Any damage resulting from breach of these conditions will have to be paid for in full by the hirer.
BREAKDOWNS
In the event of a breakdown OZ Escapes Camper Trailer Hire must be notified as soon as is practicable. It is the hirers responsibility to make sure that the camper trailer is safe at all times. OZ Escapes Camper Trailer Hire shall not be liable for expenditure, inconvenience, loss or damage incurred by the hirer in the event of a breakdown.
DAMAGE
If any damage does occur to the Camper Trailer depending on severity part of or the entire BOND of $600.00 shall be retained at the discretion of OZ Escapes Camper Trailer Hire to cover costs for the repair and/or insurance excess. Annexes and/or awnings are not covered by insurance with provider CIL, any damage to the annexe/and or awning is the responsibility of the hirer.
Should the cost for repair/ replacement exceed the bond of $600.00, the hirer will be required to pay the excess plus forfeit the bond. Any damage to the tyres and rims of the Camper Trailer in excess of what is considered normal wear and tear will be at the cost of the hirer and deducted from the bond. Should a tyre(s) puncture, blow or shred the tyre(s) must be replaced at cost to the hirer. If damage sustained is considered within the scope of normal wear and tear the hirer will be reimbursed for costs upon return of bond. Receipts for repairs must be provided.
The Camper Trailer is not to be altered or tampered with in any way either internally or externally. Nothing is to be tied to the Camper Trailer externally either to the sides or top. No heavy hard items are to be stored on the floor of the Camper Trailer eg: Eskys, BBQ’s or gas bottles etc, as they may mark or tear the flooring.
The cost of any items from the Camper Trailer either external
or internal that are found to be either broken, missing,
substituted or lost will be deducted from the bond.
Any damage deemed malicious damage that occurs during
the hire contract of the Camper Trailer is the full financial
responsibility of the hirer plus any fees incurred in the recovery
of those costs.
OZ Escapes Camper Trailer Hire takes no
responsibility for the hirer’s personal belongings.
The insurance policy with CIL does not cover the hirer’s
personal contents. It is advisable that the hirer insure own
belongings especially cameras, video camera’s, DVD players,
mobile phones etc.
ACCIDENTS
In the event of an accident occurring involving the Camper Trailer the hirer is responsible for obtaining the following information necessary for insurance purposes:
- Name, D.O.B, address, drivers licence details of any other drivers involved.
- The registration, make, model, and colour of any other vehicles involved.
- The name and address details of any witnesses present at the time of the incident.
This information is to be reported to the police by the hirer and given to OZ Escapes Camper Trailer Hire as soon as is practicable following the incident. The hirer is responsible for making a report to the police in the event of any accident involving the Camper Trailer, in the event of either the theft of or part there of the Camper Trailer or it’s contents/equipment or any Malicious damage caused to the Camper Trailer.
SUB-LETTING
The hirer is NOT permitted to sub-lease or lend the camper
trailer to any other persons.
The Camper trailer remains the property of OZ Escapes
Camper Trailer Hire.
LATE RETURNS
A penalty fee will be charged to the hirer and deducted from the bond in the event that the Camper Trailer is returned late. Charges accrue on a daily basis and are charged at either peak or off-peak part week rates.
